Bardo Meditations
Online Zoom class
In 1995 Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche taught his American students Natural Liberation, a remarkable text by the eighth century founder of Tibetan Buddhism, Padmasambhava discussing the six bardos or intermediate states of life and death.
Rinpoche asked Lama Bruce Newman to teach this text. In this class we will focus primarily on the meditations of the bardo of this life.
The class will be somewhat sequential, but it will be ok to start with a later class or drop in when it works for you. Purchase of the text would be helpful but not necessary.
Instructor: Bruce Newman
Schedule: Wednesday Evenings 7-9 PM (LA time) / 9-11 PM (Chicago Time).

Dear Lama Bruce,
Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche also thought the Natural Liberation here in Austin.
I lead meditations at our center every other Wednesday and I’m going to a retreat in November so I cannot attend every session.
Do you think it would be meaningful to drop in on only a few sessions or would that be too confusing ?
My best wishes

I’m in a time-zone 9 hours out, so class time corresponds to 4:00 am – 6 am. This is a pretty stiff clock reset to manage. Is there the possibility to make a recording for replay? Even if you prefer that it not be permanently preserved, having it available for a week could be really useful.

I would find it useful to be able to hear the teaching at a different hour: In Europe. 7 pm – 9 pm becomes 4 am – 6 am–a rather uncongenial hour for attentive listening. Would it be possible to record the teaching for playback at a less challenging hour?
Even if you don’t feel comfortable about leaving around a permanent record, having the recording available for a week could really open the door for some of us.
Best wishes,
Neal J. King
