Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche’s Centers Three-Year Program—Year One

In 2001, with the support of Tashi Choling, we started a four-year Buddhist training program in Southern Oregon. Venerable Gyaltrul Rinpoche named it Marig Munsel, Clearing the Darkness of Ignorance. The purpose of the program has been to provide a solid foundation for new and intermediate students to wisely progress along the Vajrayana path of Tibetan Buddhism. Lama Bruce Newman has taught this program numerous times at Rinpoche’s centers, discontinuing at the advent of the pandemic. We are now ready to begin our program online.
Year One is the foundations of Mahayana Buddhism. We will study Gampopa’s Jewel Ornament of Liberation which provides a strong overview of the whole Mahayana Buddhist path. Our meditation will be predominantly mindfulness meditation, loosely based on Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche’s Emotional Rescue.

This would be my first post here and I’m happy I discovered this site. I’ve already picked up a few useful ideas just from looking through existing posts, which definitely says a lot about the value of the discussions. It’s great to see people open to explain what’s helped them and explain things in a way that’s easy to understand. I’m excited about continuing to follow along. I have lately been studying about this lately.
